Say it ain’t so, PRO!

As you know from reading previous posts, I am currently checking out System Center Virtual Machine Manager (SCVMM) 2008.  Of course, my test environment also has VMware VirtualCenter Server and a couple of ESX hosts.

I turned on PRO Tips for my ESX cluster and it looks like there is something my PRO doesn’t know:

That there is a host, not a virtual machine.  Well, at least that explains why PRO could not migrate it.  I’ve not seen VMware DRS try to migrate a host before.

Now that’s what I call P2V.

    Eric,

it would be nice if you could share with us the test configuration you are using…. Like what is installed where etc… -:)

    Cheers,

    Vladan,

That is a good suggestion, I will see what I can do in the future. It makes sense, as I would typically have a series of posts related to one test lab configuration.

BTW, you have a great site; I’m now a subscriber.

    Thanks,

I’m putting a quite a few efforts in it. I’m trying to post a quality how-to articles for a newbie in virtualization. I’m not an ESX guru. I just like the virtualization tecnology, in general. I just imagine few years back, there was nothing….. and now we have a “gas factories” like SCVMM … -:)
